Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 August 2026
RetroZ Arcade is a free browser arcade at https://retroz.app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It covers the website; the Reddit version of the arcade additionally operates under Reddit's own policies.
Browsing without an account
You can open the arcade, read every leaderboard and every game page, and look around the hall without signing in. A browser that has never signed in is given a random identifier stored in a cookie so the site can tell one visitor from another between requests. It is not linked to a person, and it carries no wallet.
What we collect when you sign in
Signing in is optional, and is what opens a wallet and lets you appear on the leaderboards.
- Your Google account identifier. When you sign in with Google we receive a verified profile and store Google's stable account identifier for you. We do not store your email address. If your profile contains a name or an email address, we use it once — at the moment of first sign-in — to suggest a starting username, and keep only the resulting username.
- Your username, including nicknames you choose later and a record of those changes.
- Your play. Scores and the runs behind them, your coin ledger (every coin earned and spent), daily check-ins, rewarded-ad views, cosmetic items you own and wear, and any prizes you win.
- Anything you publish or send. Community beat maps you publish, reports you file about other players' content, and messages you send us from the in-app mail screen.
What we do not collect
- We do not store your email address, profile picture, contacts, or anything else from your Google account beyond what is listed above.
- We use no analytics, tracking or profiling tools of any kind. There is no analytics SDK on this site.
- Chat messages in the 3D hall are relayed to the other players in the room as they are typed and are not written to our database.
- We never ask for or handle payment card details.
Cookies
- Essential cookies we set. One anonymous identifier for visitors who are not signed in, and one signed session cookie for those who are. Both exist to keep you logged in and to attribute your wallet and scores to you. There is no way to use an account without them.
- Advertising cookies. See the next section — these are set by Google, not by us.
Advertising
RetroZ Arcade shows ads supplied by Google AdSense, including optional rewarded ads you can choose to watch in exchange for coins. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure those ads, and may do so based on your visits to this and other sites. We do not receive your advertising profile, and we do not send Google your username, your scores or your wallet. You can review and change how Google personalises advertising to you at Google My Ad Center, and read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com.
Diagnostics
When the game hits an error in your browser, it may send us the error message, the technical stack trace, the page address and your browser's user-agent string so the fault can be fixed. These reports go to our server logs only — they are never written to the database — and are rate-limited to a handful per session. Our hosting provider also keeps ordinary web server logs, which include IP addresses, for a limited period as part of running and securing the service.
Where your data is held
The service runs on Google Cloud Platform, and account and game data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database there. Data may be processed in countries other than your own; where that involves a transfer out of your region, it is carried out under the safeguards our hosting provider offers for such transfers.
How long we keep it, and how to have it deleted
Account and gameplay data is kept while your account exists, because it is the account — your balance is the sum of your coin ledger and your rank is your scores.
You can ask us to delete your account at any time through the MAIL screen inside RetroZ Arcade (open the menu, then Mail, then "contact the team"), which reaches the people who run the service. When an account is deleted, the account record and everything keyed to it is removed: your wallet and its whole ledger, your scores, your daily check-ins, ad-view records, cosmetics, prizes, notifications, nickname history, and any community maps and reports you published. Messages you sent to our support team, and the replies to them, are kept as a record of the correspondence but are unlinked from you, so they no longer identify your account. Deletion cannot be undone, and a deleted balance cannot be restored.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to some of our processing. Contact us through the MAIL screen inside RetroZ Arcade (open the menu, then Mail, then "contact the team"), which reaches the people who run the service and we will respond.
Children
RetroZ Arcade is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete the account.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes will also be announced inside the arcade.
Contact
Questions about this policy, or about your data, can be sent through the MAIL screen inside RetroZ Arcade (open the menu, then Mail, then "contact the team"), which reaches the people who run the service.
