RetroZ Arcade is actively developed. This is what has actually shipped, taken from the repository's own history — dates are the day the change went out.
Avatars grow up
2026-08-14
- A back slot: wings and backpacks, wearable at the same time as everything else.
- Emotes and walk styles go on sale. Emotes stack as buttons on a wheel; a walk style changes how your character moves.
- Gifting: buy a cosmetic for another player. The coins are burned and the item is granted, so nothing can be laundered through a gift.
- A 360° fitting room in the shop — try an item on before you spend.
- Your avatar follows you out of the hall: portraits now appear on rankings, profiles and the creators list.
- Fourteen more cosmetics, drawn with no additional draw calls.
- The 2D lobby opens the same shop, rankings, vault, titles and creators panels as the 3D hall, and can hand you back to 3D.
- Manual camera orbit in the hall, and eight in-world posters advertising what the arcade has.
Legal pages, and readable SEO pages
2026-08-12
- Real Privacy Policy and Terms of Service pages, server-rendered so they can actually be read without running the game.
- The standalone game pages got their contrast back — they had been rendering near-white text on white.
Every score becomes the server’s own arithmetic
2026-08-09
- Nova and Rise joined the replay court: the server re-simulates the run and derives the score, rather than bounds-checking a number the client sent.
- Three replay divergences in Rise were found by live play and fixed — a hard drop, a FREEZE item and an input landing on the run’s final step could each make an honest score drift.
- Daily rotation opened to every game, three at a time, decided by the calendar rather than by a hardcoded list.
- Today’s daily cabinets wear a gold star in the hall.
- An admin desk for support mail and announcements, and the nickname question now follows the account instead of the device.
- Stage runs: three songs on one entry, with a leaderboard that refuses to mislabel which board it is.
- Six hairstyles and three accessories added to the shop.
Idle strategies die; the inbox becomes mail
2026-08-08
- Asteroids and BeatSequence both had a way to score without playing. Both are gone: an absent pilot now loses the guns, and tapping on nothing costs the combo.
- BLOX’s board went from graph paper to dark glass.
- The inbox became mail, and the buttons became a burger menu — attention visible, navigation collapsed.
- Characters got faces, and the first pair of shades went on sale.
- Three answers to an iPad freeze: viewport resync, a client error beacon, and a watchdog on the busy flag.
The hall fills in
2026-08-06
- A character shop with a database catalog, coin-ledger purchases and per-slot equipment — and the hall now wears what the database says.
- Global rankings, the community vault’s books, and account roles.
- A prize inbox: winnings are delivered and claimable rather than merely escrowed.
- Support mail in both directions — announcements render, and players can write back.
- Hologram name tags above every head, and cabinets 1.35× larger.
- One unified game-over card across all scenes.
- A real BGM scheduler: notes land on the audio clock instead of on a timer’s mood.
The 3D hall opens
2026-08-05
- A walkable 3D lobby with a cabinet per game, other players visible, and live chat.
- The web arcade moved onto its own server with a normalized database behind it.
