BeatSequence
Rhythm · 300 coins to play · free in your browser
A rhythm game where notes fill a cluster of pads and you tap each pad on the beat. It is the only game here you can also author for: the built-in editor lets you chart your own song, publish it, and earn coins every time somebody else plays it.
Is this your next game?
Pick this for rhythm and coordination, or to discover player-made charts. Choose a sparse chart before trying dense simultaneous notes.
Choose a cabinet in the arcade →How to play
- Tap the pads — or use the keyboard.
- Tap when the note fills the pad.
- Build your own chart in the editor and publish it; you earn coins every time somebody plays it.
Mouse and keyboard
- One-hand defaults: J K L for three lanes, H J K L for four, G H J K L for five. The song-select KEYS control switches to two-hand bindings (D F J, D F J K, or D F Space J K).
- To make a chart, choose CREATE BEAT in the 2D lobby.
Controls on a touchscreen
- Tap the pad as its note fills. The pads form a compact cluster; simultaneous notes require simultaneous taps.
Scoring
- A hit inside ±90 ms of the beat is a PERFECT; further out still counts but pays less.
- Accuracy across the whole chart is what the final score is built from, so consistency beats a few spectacular frames.
Combos and multipliers
Consecutive hits build a combo, and at 20 you enter FEVER, which doubles everything until you break it. Tapping a lane when no note is there breaks the combo.
How a run ends
A chart finishes when its notes are judged, or the tenth MISS ends the run early. Earned score is retained for submission on a partial run.
Worth knowing
- Stage runs: three songs on a single entry fee, scored as one set, with their own leaderboard.
- Community charts appear in the song list next to the built-in ones, and their author earns from every play.
Your first run
- Watch the pad fill rather than chasing a note with your finger. Set one finger over each active lane before the chart starts.
- Aim for a clean phrase. After a miss, return to the next beat instead of tapping extra times to catch up; an empty-lane tap can break your new streak.
A mistake to avoid
Treating FEVER as a reason to speed up. The song timing stays the same: keep the beat and let the streak do the work.
Worked example
At a combo of 20 before a hit, the combo factor is 1.5 and FEVER contributes 2: the hit uses a 3× factor. At 50 the combined factor is 5×. Timing grade still matters, and these are score multipliers, not coin payouts.
Examples describe in-game points or resources. Wallet rewards are calculated separately after submission.
