Bubbles
Puzzle · 100 coins to play · free in your browser
Shoot bubbles up into a hexagonal cluster and pop groups of the same colour. The interesting part is what falls: bubbles cut loose from the ceiling drop even if they were never part of the match, so the best shots are the ones that sever a whole hanging section rather than merely popping three.
Is this your next game?
For deliberate aiming and bank shots. Matches matter, but severing the support of a hanging cluster is often the stronger move.
Choose a cabinet in the arcade →How to play
- Tap or drag to aim, release to fire; release near the shooter to cancel.
- Match three or more of a colour to pop them.
- Popped groups drop any bubbles left floating, and the ceiling descends every few shots.
Mouse and keyboard
Aim with a mouse or touchscreen and release to shoot. Bubbles has no keyboard aiming controls.
Controls on a touchscreen
- Drag below the launcher to aim — a guide line shows the path, including its bounce off the side walls — and release to fire.
- A tap and release fires without a long drag. Release near the cannon to cancel an aim instead; the next-bubble control is separate.
Scoring
- 10 points per bubble popped by the match itself.
- 20 points per bubble that falls because you disconnected it — twice the value of popping it directly.
- Clearing the whole cluster pays a 500-point bonus per level reached.
Combos and multipliers
No timing multiplier, but there is a structural one: a bubble you disconnect pays 20 against the 10 a popped bubble pays, so a shot that severs a hanging section is worth double one that merely matches three.
How a run ends
The cluster reaching the bottom line.
Worth knowing
- The ceiling descends on a shot counter, and an expired idle gauge consumes a shot without firing: 12 shots at level one, and the cadence tightens by 2 shots per level, so later levels give you fewer shots between descents.
- Wall bounces are part of the aim rather than an accident — most of the useful shots into the sides of the cluster need one.
Your first run
- Trace a route to the ceiling connection before choosing the nearest same-colour group. A small match high up can release many bubbles below it.
- Hold and drag to inspect the guide, including wall bounces. Release near the cannon if you want to cancel; watch the idle gauge because waiting indefinitely spends a shot.
A mistake to avoid
Counting only the bubbles you directly match. A shot that leaves the hanging section connected misses its drop bonus, and each spent shot brings the next ceiling descent closer.
Worked example
Popping three matched bubbles earns 30 points. If that also disconnects four others, their drop adds 80, for 110 before a level-clear bonus. Clearing level one adds another 500 points.
